Chesapeake & Ohio F-19 4-6-2 Pacific #490
In the 1930s, the Chesapeake & Ohio developed the Class F-19 4-6-2 steam locomotive to pull its elegant heavyweight passenger trains, including The George Washington and The Sportsman. Locomotive #490 joins #494 on the Lionel roster. With the cameo of the first president of the United Statesand honorary president of the St. James River Canal Company, a C&O predecessor--on the feedwater heater, #494 is fitted with a sign board on the tender, emblazoned with The George Washington. Sister locomotive, #490, is decorated with a colonial eagle on its feedwater heater.
